The theme of the workshops will be “learning science can be entertaining & exciting”. Students will be introduced to making science toys; they will see exciting demos in physics, chemistry, life sciences & Mathematics. Planetarium shows will also be organized in this program. We plan to conduct four workshops for the school students in urban as well as rural areas.
FUN WITH SCIENCE
25th to 27th October 2017 – Fun with science workshop for Std. 4 to 6 students was organized. Thirty students participated. They prepared interesting science toys like- glass propeller, magnetic spinner, persistence of vision science toy, balancing doll. They saw demo experiments in Physics (pressure concept, magnets & different types), Biology (BMI, weight, heart beat, respiratory rate, lung size, reaction time) Chemistry (color of flames – different salts used in crackers, elephant toothpaste, golden shower experiment KMNo4) and Earth science (Web of life in environment, Models & Rock fossils observation, explanation of constellations, mountain formation process). They also viewed the balloon planetariums shows. They thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. The workshop co-ordinator was Ms. Bhagyashree Latad.
