Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan’s, Muktangan Exploratory Science Centre (MESC) is a distinctive Science Centre, perhaps the only one of its kind in the country, which aspires to stimulate curiosity and arouse science learning in all age groups – students, teachers, senior citizens, community in general. The Centre values science as an indispensable tool for understanding the world around us and enriching people's lives.
The Exploratory is the brain child of Late Prof V. G. Bhide, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Pune, whose vision, incessant hard work and planning efforts led to the foundation of Exploratory in 1992, under the aegis of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Pune Kendra.
Children from various schools are encouraged to experience science by performing experiments and activities in seven well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics) to compliment formal education. Here, children learn to explore and experiment, invent and innovate. The Centre is working ceaselessly over two and half decades, to generate inquisitiveness, develop scientific attitude and temperament in children. Exploratory takes these budding scientists on an unending journey of exploration.
Through the varied scientific activities and programs our centre has imparted science education to more than 50,000 students since 1992.
